WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades will give you a an increase in certain statistics. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also increases the random substatus.
The upgraded gear typically has a higher trade value regardless of whether it has low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or very high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as valuable for the latter because of the requirement to roll a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be made on any kind of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enhancements.
You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks.
The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current level of the gear being upgraded but they will always be less expensive than buying new gear from other sources. For example upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from a different player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used for weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. Players can purchase them through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners for various currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor with a The button will display a preview of an item's next upgrade level, in the event that there are enough materials.
Upgrade costs differ based on the slot of the item and the current item level. For example, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. Once item upgrading has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.
Many locations offer item upgraders, including the main Island and some outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon and the possibility of getting the latest recipe. The upgrade discount increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at beginning unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are available only via a variety of ways. This is both a benefit as well as an issue.
In Season 3 the upgrade system has been tweaked a bit, with several new features added. Once a player has upgraded to a specific level for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same item level, will cost less. This is true regardless of whether the items are from a different set of gear.
The discount is available to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players have reached certain milestones in their achievement.
Crests
Players have several options for upgrading their gear in WoW. They can choose to use Flightstones, which are a common upgrade currency that is available to everyone, or crests, which are more specialized and consumed during upgrades at specific levels of items. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system that was introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.
The first thing to note is that crests can only be used to purchase equipment that is of a particular rank, and every rank has different requirements for upgrading. The simplest and simplest upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the most complex may require as many as 20 crests, based on the kind of gear that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by finishing tasks at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities or taking on dungeons and raids of all difficulty levels to obtain lower-level gear or Mythicbosses for raids, or dungeons that have a high difficulty for gear in the endgame. item upgrades are then exchanged with an upgrader for the item, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and paths.
Utilizing these new currencies isn't too difficult, but the system will introduce a few changes to the overall upgrade process. Once a piece of gear attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it no longer requires Flightstones. This allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also essential to use crests wisely, as they have only one purpose. It is recommended to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the top-quality equipment that you can find and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly true for items like trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character that will be able to avail the discount for all accounts when all slots are filled with high-quality gear.
